She completed her Bachelor of Science at the University of Western Australia, majoring in Anatomy and Human Biology, with Genetics as a second major. She then completed her honours on sperm cryopreservation in 2018. Embryologists perform various technical procedures that ensure human sperm, eggs and embryos are maintained in an optimal environment. Tammy is part of a multi-disciplinary team of scientists, doctors, nurses and admin staff that all work together to help create families.
